New Boats And ‘river Roaming’ In London

The river thames now offers a practical addition to the capital’s underground and red bus networks for sightseers in central london. two new boat services have been launched by thames clippers and there is a new ‘hop-on, hop-off’ ticket called the river roamer.
both boats are high-speed catamarans, called sun clipper and moon clipper. the first provides a fast service from the thames gateway (woolwich and greenwich piers) to central london and the second a link between the london eye and tower of london. the new services complement the ‘tate to tate’ boat which links the tate modern and tate britain art galleries. the network has been rebranded as ‘the riverline’ and its network map bears more than a passing similarity to the famous underground map.
holders of the one-day river roamer ticket (price £7 adult, £16 family, available on the boats) can travel as much as they like between millbank and the tower between 10 am and 5 pm. london travelcard holders get a discount.
